The slide:ology Glance Test

The Glance Test is a “tool for measuring the Signal-to-Noise ratio of a still image”.

As an engineer, I like to measure things.
As a Performance Improvement specialist, I have to measure things.
I need to know what the performance level was before an intervention, and after.

Nancy Duarte and I were able to take her thorough explanation of design principles in slide:ology and  create this tool. With it, you can quickly determine how clear or confusing a slide (or any other still media) is likely to be. Our experience has shown that a 4:1 ratio is necessary for an effective visual.

Collaborating with Nancy and her team on the slide:ology workshop was one of the most rewarding projects in my career. I had never been in an environment that contained so much ‘focused creativity’.

Make Work Great – The Seminar

I love Ed Muzio’s mission statement, “More Output, Less Stress”. Who doesn’t want that?

So, it was a pleasure to work with Ed on converting his award-winning book into a workshop that delivers on that promise. For this project, we integrated Ed’s fantastic ‘whiteboard’ videos with activities, reflection, and action to create a one-day experience that – when applied – will change your workplace.
